BEC participates in most of the area’s health insurance carriers and Medicare. Some procedures are not fully covered by insurance. Please check with your insurance carrier if you are unsure of your coverage. Please keep in mind that you are responsible for obtaining any referrals or pre-certification from your primary care physician if required by your health insurance plan. We cannot negotiate the settlement of insurance claims.
Please bring all insurance cards to BEC on the day of your procedure. Patients who do not have full insurance coverage should make financial arrangements prior to the date of your procedure. COPAYMENTS ARE DUE AT THE TIME OF YOUR APPOINTMENT. You are responsible for any deductible, co-insurance or other balance that is not paid by your insurance company. Accounts are due upon receipt of your first statement. For your convenience, we accept cash, checks, Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express.
You were seen by your gastroenterologist for evaluation of your medical condition. Your gastroenterologist has recommended an endoscopic procedure at Berkshire Endoscopy Center. Please be advised your gastroenterologist owns interest in Berkshire Endoscopy Center.
Berkshire Endoscopy Center and your gastroenterologist are separate and distinct businesses.
The recommended service can be provided to you at another facility if you feel this business arrangement is unsuitable. An alternative source for the proposed service is Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, MA.
If you have decided to have your endoscopic procedure at Berkshire Endoscopy Center, there will be two separate charges:
Additional charges may also apply if a tissue sample is taken during the procedure:
Both you and your insurance carrier will receive a separate bill for these services. Your physician, facility, pathology lab and pathologist are separate entities and are required to bill separately for their services. Regardless of where you elect to have the endoscopic procedure performed, you will receive separate bills. (This billing method is standard and required by all insurance carriers.)
